It’s been a minute since I’ve been so engrossed in a book that I sacrificed sleep for it but I stayed up till 4am to finish this one and I have no regrets.

In The Unhoneymooners, Olive Torres’s twin sister Ami is getting married to Dane Thomas. On the day of their wedding however, in the middle of the reception, everyone suffers from food poisoning as a result of the buffet that was served. Olive and Ethan (Dane’s brother) are the only ones who are spared thanks to their dietary preferences.

With Ami not wanting her honeymoon trip to go to waste, she pleads for Olive to go in her place instead and Dane asks Ethan to do the same. Olive and Ethan can’t stand each other so pretending to be a couple for 10 days on a tropical island is gearing up to be tough.

Christina and Lauren are a fantastic writing duo. They’ve written a rom-com with a hate-to-love relationship trope that doesn’t at any point feel cheesy or cringey – it was just the perfect combination of heartfelt and witty. I absolutely LOVED it from beginning to end. Hilarious, sweet and steamy – I was laughing out loud so much that my brother asked “Books can you make you laugh?”.
