“We help people when big things happen to them, when you see them getting hit by a car, when a brother or a sister or a father or a mother dies, we’re there for them because we can see that death kills more than the person it takes. And yet, the people around us who die a little all the time, moment by moment, who require the least help, the smallest sacrifice, are the ones we ignore completely.”

I Wrote This for You: Just the Words

I Wrote This for You: Just the Words’ is a poetry collection filled with lots of beautiful gems that cover seven categories: On Love Found, On Being in Love, On Love Lost, On Despair, On Hope, On Living, and On Dying.

Some words hit you right in the feels and some words don’t make you feel anything at all. some words put a smile on your face and some words barely register. Some words you read and want to share with all your friends and people you love and some words make you remember people you’ve loved.

If you’ve read the first two collections of this book, then you’ll find that this one is very similar and a number of older poems actually appear again in this collection which makes this collection not as exciting but I still had many faves which I’ve listed below:

  • The Wasted Words
  • The Scratches That Made Me
  • The Things I Meant
  • The Forgotten Star
  • The View On The Way Down
  • The Molten Core
  • The Day You Read This
  • The Truth As It Currently Stands
  • The Words On A Tombstone
  • The End Bit Is Animated
  • The Pain Of Each Other
